Uses: Lemon is very good for all sorts of cuts and wounds and in addition Lemon is also haemostatic ( helps to stop bleeding). A mouthwash of Lemon is good for gingivitis and mouth ulcers. For nosebleeds soak a small pad of cotton wool in lemon juice and insert into the nostril.It is also good for treating oily skins as it has astringent properties as well as brightening dull and discoloured skin. It is also good for treating spots and boils. Oil of lemon can be used as an alternative treatment for corns, verrucas and warts.

Lemon can help to counter acidity in the body and as such can help with gastric acidity, stomach ulcers and digestive problems It can also be a general tonic to the digestive system including the liver and pancreas. Lemon oil has a number of important properties of which the most important is its ability to stimulate the white corpuscles that defend the body against infection.

Mixes well with: Neroli, Citronella, Lavender, Rosemary, Clary Sage and any of the citrus family of oils. How to use essential oils: Use in a burner, humidifier/diffuser by adding a few drops to water. Use in inhalation with a steam vaporiser or put on a handkerchief/tissue on the pillow. Place a few drops in a warm bath. Use in a Foot Spa or Jacuzzi. Dilute in carrier oil or cream base and apply directly onto the skin.
